Disc Brake & Diff Upgrades

The front diff was cleaned up, painted and upgraded with late 40/60/70 front disc knuckles, spindles, axles, hubs, backing plates, disks, calipers and soft/hard lines.  A new bearing and seal kit was used with the replacement components and the knuckle bearings centered and shimmed in relation to the front axles on the new hardware. The old rear diff with 8 bolt drum backing plates was replaced with a 76 series diff with 4 bolt disk backing plates Track is the same although spring perches are slightly different requiring old perches to be ground off and new perches welded on in the correct location / angle. The rear housing supports 70 series backing plates for the handbrake and rear disc brake components.  A new bearing and seal kit was used with the replacement components  New brake hard lines and hardware run and new brake hoses added.

1HZ engine & H55F

  A 1HZ engine from a HZB50 Coaster was converted to 12 volt components and fitted with a Landcruiser rear sump to suit. It's a 4.2 litre diesel inline 6-cylinder 12-valve SOHC, is an indirect injection design, and delivers maximum power of 96 kW (129 hp) at 3800 rpm and maximum torque of 285 N⋅m (210 lbf⋅ft) at 2200 rpm H55F 5 speed transmission and transfer case from a HZJ75 mated to 1HZ engine
